
Minh Nguyen Company opened a supporting industry factory in Ho Chi Minh City high-tech park

This afternoon, December 19, Minh Nguyen Supporting Industry Joint Stock Company opened and put into operation plastic injection workshops, mechanical workshops, and plastic component assembly workshops applying high technology in Ho Chi Minh City Hi-Tech Park. Minh Nguyen Supporting Industry Joint Stock Company is currently one of the first domestic enterprises selected by Samsung Group as a direct supplier for the project’s production complex of electronic and household electrical products. Samsung Electronics HCMC CE (SEHC) has a total investment capital of about 2 billion USD at SHTP.
As a member of Phuoc Thanh Plastic Company Limited, Minh Nguyen Supporting Industry Joint Stock Company is the investor of the project “Phuoc Thanh high-tech research, application and production zone” with a scale of over 52,000m2 at SHTP, with an investment capital of over 1,600 billion VND, specializes in manufacturing plastic components, mechanical details and high-tech application molds.
In phase 1 of the project on a total area of 36,000 m2 with a total investment of 800 billion VND opened today, Minh Nguyen Company will put into operation plastic injection workshops, mechanical workshops, and component assembly workshops. and research room; with advanced highly automated machinery and equipment systems imported directly from Japan, Korea, Germany, and the US.
Among them, according to Minh Nguyen, the most prominent is the most modern Mazak Integrex i-300 ST mechanical processing machine line in Vietnam today and there are currently only more than 10 similar machines in the world. Phase 1 of the project allows the company to continuously produce with a capacity of up to 20 million products per year.
Mr. Chau Ba Long, General Director of Minh Nguyen Supporting Industry Joint Stock Company, said that with an investment strategy focusing on technology and people, Minh Nguyen will participate more strongly in the global supply chain, making an important contribution to the development of supporting industries in particular as well as the socio-economic development in general of Ho Chi Minh City.
Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Le Van Khoa said that Minh Nguyen is one of eight businesses participating in the city’s investment stimulus program according to Decision 50/2015/QD-UBND signed in October 2015. With the city’s support, Minh Nguyen has boldly invested in production in the field of supporting industries, building new factories and investing in modern machinery systems.
Minh Nguyen’s products have been supplied to corporations such as Samsung. According to Mr. Khoa, this is a good sign and also a motivation for the city to continue to direct and manage supporting industry development solutions in the city.
A Samsung representative in Ho Chi Minh City said that in an effort to develop domestic suppliers, Samsung has been looking for potential Vietnamese manufacturing businesses to send Korean experts to guide, advise and support. to improve supply capacity for Samsung’s production projects.
By September 2016, the number of Vietnamese enterprises participating in Samsung’s supply chain had tripled compared to 2015. Accordingly, from 4 purely Vietnamese tier 1 suppliers, Samsung had 12 Vietnamese enterprises. is a level 1 supplier. There are also 178 Vietnamese enterprises that are level 2 suppliers. Thus, by September there were a total of 190 Vietnamese enterprises participating in Samsung’s supply chain.
