Reporting at the meeting, Deputy Director of the City Department of Planning and Investment Nguyen Thi Thu Hoa said: In the first 6 months of 2017, the city’s economy continued to grow, the service, industry, and agriculture sectors continued to grow. continue to develop. Specifically, the growth rate of GRDP (gross product in the area) reached 7.46% higher than the same period; economic restructuring in a direction associated with growth model transformation, economic growth reduces dependence on investment capital. Notably, total retail sales of goods and service revenue in the first 6 months of the year is estimated at 451,003 billion VND, up 10.3% over the same period last year. The total export turnover of enterprises in the city in 6 months is estimated at 17 billion USD, up 17.4% over the same period. If excluding the value of crude oil, turnover is estimated at 14.23 billion USD, up 20.3% (same period increased 8.0%).
For the tourism sector, in the first 6 months of the year, international visitors to the city were estimated to reach more than 2.7 million visitors, an increase of 14.7% over the same period and reaching 51.5% of the 2017 plan (5.4 million visitors). Tourism industry revenue in 6 months is estimated at 53,617 billion VND, up 12% over the same period and reaching 47.9% of the year plan.
The industrial development index in 6 months is estimated to increase by 7.5% over the same period (same period increased by 6.9%). Four key industries (mechanical manufacturing, electronics, chemicals – rubber – plastics and food processing) continue to proactively expand markets, invest in equipment innovation, and improve quality. Product quality and competitiveness are estimated to increase by 9.72% over the same period, higher than the general growth rate of the entire industry. For the agricultural sector, in the first 6 months of the year, the value of agricultural, forestry and fishery production was estimated at 7,136.6 billion VND, up 6.5% over the same period (same period increased 5.9%). . State budget revenue in the first 6 months of the year is estimated at more than 173,000 billion VND, reaching more than 49%, up 17% over the same period, all revenues increased.
The situation of domestic investment and foreign direct investment (FDI) continues to increase. Specifically, in terms of domestic investment, in the first 6 months of the year, there were 18,030 newly licensed enterprises with a total registered capital of 227,514 billion VND (compared to the same period, an increase of 10.5% in the number of enterprises and an increase of 57 billion VND). .5% of registered capital).
